The Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) has confirmed that it will offer a virtual learning option for both elementary and secondary students (Grades 4–12) during the 2025-2026 school year.
Students currently enrolled in virtual learning for the 2024-2025 school year will be automatically pre-registered for virtual learning for the following year. Similarly, students enrolled in in-person learning will be pre-registered for in-person learning for 2025-2026. If your child plans to remain in their current learning format, no further action is required.
However, parents and guardians who wish to transition their child to in-person learning or virtual learning for the 2025-2026 school year must notify their current school by February 28, 2025, to request a programming change.
To participate in the virtual learning program, parents/guardians will need to provide proof of Ontario residency at the start of each school year. Virtual schools will contact registered families during the week of August 25th to arrange submission of this proof, which must be confirmed by September 12, 2025.
To ensure stability in the classroom, enrolment in the virtual learning program is intended to be a year-long commitment. Families will not be able to switch between in-person and virtual learning during the 2025-2026 school year, except under specific circumstances. Any requests for changes will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, depending on space availability at each school and grade level.
Students participating in the virtual learning program will be registered at McNaughton Avenue Public School (elementary) or Lambton Kent Composite School (secondary).
For questions or further details regarding your child’s enrolment, please contact your child’s current school directly.
